Founder & Creative Director
Tarini, the founder and director of Leon Dance Company, has a passion for dance that started at the young age of 7 at Johnny Young Talent Time school. Since then, she has been captivating audiences all across Australia with her incredible performances.
With a love for performing deeply ingrained in her heart, Tarini pursued her dreams after completing high school, earning a degree in performing arts from Dance World Studios. Her talent was quickly recognized by agencies, launching her into a successful career as a professional dancer. To enhance her skills, she embarked on transformative training journeys to vibrant cities like Los Angeles and London.
Tarini's remarkable dance journey includes sharing the stage with renowned artists such as Usher, Ricky Martin, and the Planetshakers Band. She has choreographed and featured in numerous music videos and nationally aired commercials. You might have even spotted her on prestigious TV shows like the MTV Awards, Logie Awards, and Aria Music Awards. Her incredible talent has taken her on exhilarating world tours alongside various artists, all while leading a team of exceptional dancers at Planetshakers Church.
Tarini is an accomplished teacher with over 15 years experience working with all age groups and continues to choreograph and perform, fuelling her deep passion for dance. Now, she has decided to open a school, empowering the next generation of talented dancers to shine brightly.

Janelle Tan Yung Huey is an independent dance artist and educator based in Melbourne (Naarm), with a broad passion for a variety of dance styles and forms. She began her dance journey at an early age, initially training in RAD Classical Ballet before expanding her practice. At six years old, Janelle began studying Chinese Traditional Dance, and at thirteen, she immersed herself in Street Dance.
Janelle went on to pursue a tertiary education in Contemporary Dance at the Victorian College of the Arts, where she completed her full-time training in 2021. During her studies, she received multiple prestigious awards, including the AG McMillan Arts Trust and the Choreographic Development Award.
Since graduating, Janelle has worked with some of Melbourne's most respected contemporary dance makers, including Michelle Heaven, Caroline Meaden, Alice Dixon, Whil Bride, and her long-time collaborator Amelia Jean O'Leary. She is also deeply involved in the Planetshakers Dance Team, where she performs, choreographs, and teaches, focusing on Street Dance styles.
In addition to her performance career, Janelle is a pre-school ballet teacher with Tiny Tutus Ballet Company, a Pilates instructor, and the owner of a Pilates business. Her diverse roles reflect her commitment to exploring and sharing the art of movement.

Marilyn is a Malaysian-Chinese dance artist, born and raised in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. She started dancing at the age of 6 and is trained in classical ballet, modern theatre, jazz, contemporary and street dance. She completed the RAD ballet syllabus & the ISTD modern theatre syllabus up to Advanced 2 with straight distinctions and holds the Associate teaching qualification with the ISTD. She has competed and performed internationally across Malaysia, Singapore and Hong Kong. She moved to Melbourne in 2019 to further her studies in contemporary dance and is a 2021 Bachelor of Fine Arts (Dance) graduate of the Victorian College of the Arts (VCA). She is currently a freelance dance artist and is part of the Planetshakers Dance Team. She loves collaborating with others and is inspired by how dance can be united with other disciplines. She is passionate about impacting lives through sharing the freedom and joy this art form brings and is dedicated to bringing excellence to all that she does.

Jet is a Melbourne based dancer and choreographer born in the Philippines and raised in Wellington, New Zealand. At the age of twelve he began choreographing for his own hip hop crew and at fifteen started performing for city council-held events including but not limited to; the 2011 Rugby World Cup in New Zealand and Chinese New Year Festivals. At age eighteen, his crew competed at the Hip Hop Unite World Championships and received 3rd place. He returned to compete at the NZ Nationals 10 years later, receiving 1st place.
In the last decade, Jet has been teaching and choreographing for Arise church and LIFE church in New Zealand, helping direct dance shows and producing larger scale dance items such as the musical "Mr Scrooge", which had a cast of 40 members. He also taught hip hop classes at the Hayley Johnson Dance Academy in Wellington.
With a commitment towards versatility and growth, Jet completed a diploma in commercial dance at Te Auaha Institute of Creativity in New Zealand in 2023; training in styles such as jazz, ballet, contemporary, ballroom and dance acrobatics. Jet enjoys drawing inspiration from all disciplines when it comes to his choreography and is most passionate about seeing new dancers grow and discover themselves through dance.
